Data Processing

  • Roll and share payloads are processed locally in your browser.
  • Payloads are transferred between your own tabs via Chrome extension messaging.
  • Data is posted into Roll20 chat only when you trigger a roll or share action.

Data Storage

The extension stores only minimal local settings in chrome.storage.local:

  • rollFormat
  • includeMetadata
  • lastRoll20TabId
  • lastError

These values remain on your device and are used only for extension operation.

Permissions Rationale

  • tabs: find and route to an open Roll20 tab.
  • storage: persist user settings and routing helpers.
  • scripting: extension-side script behavior in MV3.
  • Host permissions (michaelsmod.com, app.roll20.net): receive site events and submit chat in Roll20.
